The Gamru School Annual Function!

This year Anna-Marie, our main sponsor came to visit for two weeks in November. The students had been practising for the big event, and everyone’s favourite time of year – the school Annual Function. Staff and students had all worked very hard to make costumes and sets, learn several dances and songs, perform poetry and sell arts & crafts.

The weather was glorious and we had many visitors this year, including our Chief guest of honour, His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s sister-in-law, Rinchen Khando La. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and the performances. There are too many amazing photos to share here, but if you would like to see an album of the day, please go to our gallery.

Card making – fund-raising drive

Many students from 5th to 8th class enjoyed getting creative and designing their own greetings cards in a range of styles. (Both Indian and Christmas designs). They went on sale at the Annual Function and in McLeod Ganj and nearly everything was sold to raise money for more arts & crafts supplies in school – so hopefully the fun may long continue! The students can be very proud of their creations.
